Lycksele Zoo was founded in 1959 by Holger Lithner. From its modest start with a few reindeer down to Elfsvik - current Gammplatsen - the park has gradually grown into one of Norrland’s most visited tourist sites. Today there are more than 30 Nordic species of animals including the big four "- bears, wolves, lynx and wolverines. But also domestic livestock breeds from Sweden are shown.
